At the end of day 4 New Zealand are 30-1, trailing their target by 383 runs. Daniel Flynn was the only man to be dismissed in this innings. The day began with New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori batting with his tail. They folded for 299, not long after play started. Paranavitana failed with the bat yet again but Dilshan powered a century in quick-time to steer the home-team to 259 in just 49 overs. When rain intervened again, Sangakkara decided he should declare and unleash his spinners on the Kiwi batsmen while there is still hope of winning. But New Zealand have been cautious and they seem determined to save this Test. However, chasing 414 won't be easy on a fifth day wicket with Muralidaran and Mendis. Let's see if the Kiwi batsmen can hold fort and draw this Test. They have done well thus far but the Lankans still have their nose ahead at the moment.
