Live Cricket:: Sri Lanka vs New Zealand 2nd Test - day 2::- 27/08/09

At Day 1, Sri Lanka are 262/3. It's been all Sri Lanka in the last session as Jayawardena and Samaraweera have batted superbly adding 116 runs, at a quicker rate for the most of it and also ensuring they do not lose any further wickets. Their partnership for the fourth wicket now is 147 runs and has put Sri Lanka well and truly in the driving seat. With a lot of batting still to come, Sri Lanka would be hoping to pile up a huge first innings total from here on and put the visitors under pressure. On the other hand, New Zealand would need to pick themselves up and come back stronger to take some wickets very early tomorrow if they are to prevent the Lankans from getting away. Lets join for all the action on Day 2 from Colombo.

Live Cricket:: Sri Lanka vs New Zealand 1st Test - day 5 ::- 22/08/09

At the end of day 4 New Zealand are 30-1, trailing their target by 383 runs. Daniel Flynn was the only man to be dismissed in this innings. The day began with New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori batting with his tail. They folded for 299, not long after play started. Paranavitana failed with the bat yet again but Dilshan powered a century in quick-time to steer the home-team to 259 in just 49 overs. When rain intervened again, Sangakkara decided he should declare and unleash his spinners on the Kiwi batsmen while there is still hope of winning. But New Zealand have been cautious and they seem determined to save this Test. However, chasing 414 won't be easy on a fifth day wicket with Muralidaran and Mendis. Let's see if the Kiwi batsmen can hold fort and draw this Test. They have done well thus far but the Lankans still have their nose ahead at the moment. See you tomorrow for the fifth and final day of this Test match.
